SSW & Bush utilizes “Smart” packaging of construction bids. It will use its experience with the product type and the local subcontractor market to develop work packages which yield the most qualified subcontractors and the lowest price. SSW & Bush has developed a loyal following of subcontractors for the type of work and has successfully coordinated the most qualified local subs in similar projects.

Prebid Meetings will be held and at a minimum will review:

• Instructions to bidders

• Proposal requirements including pricing
  and alternates as applicable

• Special & general conditions

• General requirements

• Quality and safety related objectives

• Specification divisions and sections

• Turnover and closeout requirements

The purpose of each conference is to clearly explain project requirements and to help ensure complete and competitive proposals from bidders. The prebid meeting will be documented with clarifications incorporated by written addenda.

Preaward Meetings will be held with the apparent low bidder following the receipt and opening of bids. The purpose of the meeting will be to review the following:

• Contract requirements

• Scope of work

• Price compared to the detailed estimate

• Key contractor personnel

• List of proposed major subcontractors

• Project requirements

• Contractor references and legal history.

The results of the reviews described above will provide the basis of award.

Smart packaging of the work will yield the most qualified subcontractor with a complete, correct scope.
